1. Preface
CBZ series marine explosion‑proof axial flow fans are designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 11800‑89 *Marine Explosion‑Proof Axial Flow Fans.
The general requirements for flameproof “d” electrical equipment specified in GB 3836‑83 Electrical Apparatus for Explosive Atmospheres,
and the Rules for the Construction and Classification of Sea‑Going Steel Ships.
2. Application
These fans are suitable for supply or extraction of flammable and explosive gas mixtures/vapours, normal air, salt‑laden marine air, oil‑mist‑contained air and other corrosive air.
The series is ideally used for exhausting flammable and explosive gas mixtures and vapours from oil tanks, holds, pump rooms, battery compartments, ammunition lockers, hangars, paint lockers, etc.
It can also serve ventilation for other ship compartments and equivalent onshore locations.
The fans can be fitted with YB‑H marine flameproof AC motors of 380V 50Hz or 440V 60Hz.
3. Operating Conditions
Applicable environment: locations with Grade explosive gas mixtures
Ambient temperature: -25℃ ~ +50℃
Relative air humidity: ≤95%
Periodical rolling: 22.5°~ 45°
Continuous transverse inclination: ±15°
Continuous longitudinal inclination: ±10°
Vibration: present
Shock: present
4. Structural Types
Three standard structural types: Type I (deck type), Type II (duct type), Type III (separate compartment type).
Spark‑free construction.
Type I (Deck Type) Explosion‑Proof Fan
Equipped with a hood. The flameproof motor is mounted on top of the frame.
A stainless steel wire mesh guard (2 openings per cm²) surrounds the frame.
The fan is vertically fixed on deck and available for both air supply and extraction.
Type II (Duct Type) Explosion‑Proof Fan
No hood fitted. The built‑in flameproof motor is mounted on the casing at the downstream guide vanes.
It can be installed vertically, horizontally or on deck, for either air supply or extraction.
Upon customers’ special requests, Type III, IV and V can be supplied.
For these models, fan and motor are installed in separate compartments, equipped with transmission assembly, sealed box and two sets of flexible couplings.
They are mainly used for exhausting hazardous compartments.
Type III can be horizontally mounted; Type IV and V are vertically deck‑mounted, applicable for air supply or extraction.
5. Features
- Explosion‑proof design, safe and reliable operation
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- High resistance against rolling, vibration and shock
